Next to George Lucas, conceptual designer Ralph McQuarrie is the man most responsible for the look and feel of the Star Wars universe. Together, they both visualized two imaginary creatures, the Krayt Dragon and the Knobby White Spider. Both creatures have appearances in video games and books, but no live appearances in a motion picture.
